Everyone wants to eat in the open air. Certainly, even the most indifferent to the food children after running and breathing in fresh (forest) air will be hungry. Even wide variety of available food can not satisfy the most demanding children’s taste. So that children are not left hungry, you should think about the menu for children in advance.

Fruits

The easiest way is to bring fresh fruits. But it’s so boring! Hardly either one apple will be eaten up fully. Fruits in batter are an excellent alternative. This can be everything: slices of pineapple, apples or what your children like. Children will eat these sweets quickly and will be not hungry!

Prepare batter as follows: put vegetable oil (1 tablespoon) and cold water (125 ml) into a flour (100 g). Mix well. Separately whisk whites to foam (2 pcs.). Pour vegetable oil into a container for frying vegetables in batter, let it heating. Carefully connect whipped egg whites with flour and stir with a wooden spatula. The batter should be light thanks to whites. Dip fruit rings in batter and fry in oil. After frying, put fruits on a napkin to excess oil to flow. You can sprinkle them on top with cinnamon or powdered sugar. It will be delicious!

And you can make it easier. Wrap a fruit in puff pastry and bake it! It’s excellent to do it with a banana because it keeps good shape, and such a dessert can then be spread on skewer.

Kids like sausages so much, why not to cook them in the open air? They look very funny with pasta inside. Pierce sausages with raw pasta and then cook. This known method is popular now, and for parents there is another advantage that a child eats not only a sausage but also pasta.

Also children will like “stuffed” sausages. Simply cut them lengthwise but not throughout. Put dried fruits (apricots, prunes) or slices of cheese and vegetables, such as tomatoes or peppers inside. Further roll up a sausage in piece of bacon and fix with a skewer or toothpick. Children can fry such sausages themselves on a picnic.

Sausages can be wrapped not only in meat. For example, sausages in puff pastry are eaten in a moment. There is nothing difficult, pieces of sausage you should roll up in puff pastry and bake for 20 minutes in the oven. This dish will be an excellent prevention of hunger in the open air!

Lavash

The availability of lavash gives you many options for preparation of good children’s snacks. You can stuff lavash with everything you want, with “paste” made of crab sticks and boiled eggs, of cheese with herbs, fish and meat or with vegetable fillings. The main thing is to cut it into portions, rolls that it will be convenient for children to take them in hand.

Sweets

How will be without sweets? Even sweets can be cooked maximum nutritious and not only tasty. They are usually prepared from oatmeal flakes or flakes of several cereals.

For example, you can bake cookies with bananas based on oatmeal. To do this, gently crush the flakes (120 g), add to it chopped banana slices (2 pcs.), crushed chocolate (100g) or dried fruits. All ingredients should be mixed. Then form balls, each dip in ground nuts or flour and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

In the same manner you can do home “kozinaki”: heat the butter (150g), honey (3 tablespoons) and sugar (75 g). When the mass becomes transparent and uniform you should add the flakes of rolled oats (250 g) dried grapes (50 g) and roasted nuts (50 g). You need to mix everything properly and put on a baking sheet. Such sweets you should bake to golden crust about 20-30 minutes. As soon as you take them out of the oven, cut into bars and let them to cool down.

And you can take with you marshmallow and allow kids to fry it, just thread it on skewers!

Don’t forget about the drinks. It will be better to take home compotes or fruit drinks prepared at home.

Of course, more likely children will get shashlik, all kinds of sandwiches but it will be better if the “kids” table has the more variety of dishes as “adults”. Use your imagination and you will succeed!
